If you listen to us on Reflections In The Dark on Sunday night’s you know that we believe that Hollywood acts as a public relations and marketing machine for the powers of darkness.  It’s not easy to see how the films glorify the unGodly while debasing and insulting the righteous.  Every now and then you will get a film like The Blind Side which shows Christian values but hardly ever will supernatural themed films do that.  If they do it’s always from a Catholic perspective as if the Roman Catholic Church is the only ones who can stand against the demonic.  And yet, even in those films the outcome is always slanted toward the dark side.  Some might call that unfair or biased.  We simply call it “business as usual”.

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

That’s why we do Reflections In The Dark and SRT does what it does – to show that a: the supernatural/paranormal is real; b: that it’s not always harmless; c: that there is a Power greater then anything the powers of darkness can muster up.  Does Hollywood show that on the movie or television screen?  No.

January 9, 2012 – Claws for Concern

Okay, this will be the second go round on this post.  Spent 90-minutes writing, researching and posting links to match the blog.  When I went to publish it all disappeared in the blink of an eye.  It did not matter that the blog was periodically automatically saving the draft.

POOF!  All gone!

Nope, nothing going on there.  Just a glitch in the system.  A systemic anomaly, as the Architect from The Matrix says.  NOT!

Let’s try this again….sigh.

Since the Tower of Babel the talons of the fallen and their demonic hybrid offspring have been on mad made creations when it serves their purposes.  What purpose is that?  The destruction of those made in the image of God and reclaiming their rule from before The Flood.

From the plains of Shinar in Sumer where the Tower of Babel was built to the science lab the inspiration of the fallen pushes men to defy the rule of the Living God on their behalf.

Pay attention as you watch the news or see a story indicating another “breakthrough” in technology or science.  When you hear the word “breakthrough” remember that it was the Tower of Babel that broke through the clouds, into the heavenlies, that got the attention of the Throne Room!

January 6, 2012 – When Two Worlds Collide

(in my best Andy Rooney voice) “Have you ever wondered when you see a mindless killing machine in a movie, like the Terminator, and then read about our own American military working on something similar who inspired who?  I mean, is Hollywood molding the military or is the military molding Hollywood?  Or, is it just plain mold from the dank dungeons of hell?”

When the reality and entertainment collide it’s a lot like when the natural and supernatural worlds collide.  It’s the realization that there is more going on then meets the eye.  The only way to “see” then is with spiritual eyes and to “hear” with spiritual ears.

January 5, 2012 – Techonology

We know from the prophecy of the angel at the end of the book of Daniel in chapter 12 verse 4 that knowledge will increase in the end times.  Right now we are in a knowledge explosion to where it won’t be long before someone says “hey, let’s build a tower up to Heaven…”  The Tower of Babel probably came from a similar inspiration of the fallen to expand mankind’s mind while pilfering their soul.  There is something about knowledge that puffs us up and convinces us we are more then we really are.  All you have to do is listen to a pompous PhD or scientist’s arrogance that seeps from their pores to see what knowledge can and does do.  Is it no wonder that God uses the simple things of the world to confound the wise who are wise in their own eyes but not in God’s.  The wisdom in question is not from above but from the one who fell from above because they no longer belonged there.  I guess misery loves company!
