February 9, 2012 – Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men

This question was the signature line of a fictional character called The Shadow that originated in the 1930’s. As the story goes, The Shadow would know what evil was in their hearts and then do something about it in his own mystical vigilante style. If The Shadow were real and around in 2012 he’d be so busy his shadow would be drooping with exhaustion. The evil in the hearts of men (and women) has increased exponentially.

2 Timothy 3 – The Dangers of the Last Days

¹³ But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.

Evil and the people who promote & commit it are flourishing. They are glorified in movies and entertainment media with a promotional campaign that began back in the late 1970’s and through out the 1980’s with characters such as Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street, Pinhead from the Hellraiser series, Jason from Friday the 13th and Michael Myers from Halloween. These films were inspired by and helped get produced by the success of such “splatter” film as Last House on the Left (1972) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). Once Hellywood saw that blood, guts and dismemberment sold tickets they embraced it with their bling covered talons. A new breed of filmmaker was born from the youth that saw these films and violent blood splattered horror became a movie franchise. The violence and inhumanity increased and the poison spread. Audiences are more desensitized now then ever before and that insensitivity to violence and crime has spread into society itself.
