I believe we are in those days and they began on the day of Pentecost when the fire of the Holy Spirit was poured out in the Upper Room.

As the prophetic clock ticked and the digits clicked over into 1948 the days of dreaming escalated to where we are now.  I know for me personally, since January 2007 my dreams have become more spiritual and been invaded (both good and bad) more often then not.  There are many nights I get no rest because of the visions and images inserting themselves into my sleep state.

Interpreting dreams is a gift that I’ve been blessed with (or cursed depending upon your interpretation) since I got saved in October of 1988.  There are many who do not  believe in dream analysis or do not allow for spiritual meaning in dreams. I do and have seen much of what I discern to be true or come true.

If you want to understand your dreams here are some suggestions.

First, determine if the dream was influenced by anything external such as the last thing you watched on television, a movie, something you read or a conversation the night before.  Are you under stress in a relationship, work or life challenge?  The subconscious mind will not let go of these stress related thoughts and can create images in your dreaming that can easily be misinterpreted.  Then, determine if it was influenced by something you ate (food, snack, etc.) or some supplement (melatonin) or drug (for illness, or to sleep).  All of these things will  influence your brain patterns during sleep and can cause vivid dreaming.

If you have done all of the above and feel as if the dream you just had had some meaning to it I always suggest you either write it down or record it for review.  If this is something you are prone to experience, keep a handheld recorder (most smartphones have them now) or pad next to your bed.  If you are recording them recite everything you can remember in a slow, clear manner.  The reason you do it slowly, even pausing between images or “scenes” is to give you a place to pause the recorder to think about the visuals.  When writing them down I always suggest you do it on double space so that as you examine the dream you can make notes as the revelations and explanations come.

Keep in mind that that the visuals you remember may be disjointed and won’t always be in a clear, linear pattern.  That is another reason to record them (verbal or written) in beats or moments.  Not all of the experiences or visuals will line up in a cohesive understandable pattern.  However, there are times that your dreams will act like a movie and flow from one scene to another.  Whenever I have had that happen I know there is a message to the madness I have dreamed.

After recording what you initially remember with all the details and clarity possible – walk away.  Take a break.  If you do not, your natural reasoning and creativity will begin to fill in the blanks and missing pieces of the puzzle.  You will add your own pieces to the imagery and corrupt the process.  Save the notes in a journal or in a computer file.  The interpretation may come quickly or take years to reveal themselves to you.  I’ve experienced both.

Do not rush to share your dream unless you feel the nudge of the Spirit to do so.  Some dreams are just for you and some are for a later date.  Some dreams are just dreams with no special supernatural or spiritual meaning.  Too many people in their rush to be noticed send out their dreams and post them in forums.  Let’s get real here – if you are a someone God wants to use to give messages to His people He will make a way for you to do so.  Joseph got himself in real trouble by sharing a dream just for him with his father and  brothers!

Finally, if you are a Believer, pray for revelation knowledge and the discerning of spirits to make sure the dream wasn’t influenced by something from the kingdom of darkness.  Do not take for granted that all spiritual dreams come from God.  The fallen still have their supernatural minds and ability to invade your thoughts if they are not guarded.  If you are someone that has regular spiritual dreams I suggest your pray over your mind before drifting off to sleep.

Pray for protection over your mind.

Pray for remembrance.

Pray for understanding.

I believe we are in the days of dreaming.  We must discern the times and everything that goes with it.  It’s better to be safe then sorry and smart to be diligent.  To ignore them makes us both naturally and spiritually ignorant!
